Prize winning proposal selected by a judging panel for a live client project to redesign 'The Salon' lounge within the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel.

Site/Place/Location:
11 Blythswood Square
Glasgow, G2 4AD

Project/Proposal:
Fluid adaptable space that draws guests and visitors into a comfortable living space, that evokes the buildings connections to the city, past present and future.

Animation showing the Snug transitioning from day to night, projections becoming a more accentuated feature as the room darkens.
Utilising projector technology with energy-saving features and warping capabilities, the space can continually and sustainably be renewed without the need to layer paint within the listed site. One will be ceiling-mounted for projections onto bar columns, a further two concealed in the divider between the Snug and Salon, projecting onto adjacent ceiling areas.
Projections of moving image illuminates columns. Back lit cabinet highlights glasses and display items. Bar is formed of continuous recycled polycarbonate. The pearlescent sheen reflects light and guests moving through the space.
