A narrow gap site situated between tenement buildings and railway arches.
Project/Proposal:
A house for a music lover.
Proposal for an eccentric client, infatuated with his personal collection of 50s/60s swing and rock and roll "78" records. Heard wandering through Glasgow city centre with a speaker attached to his backpack, he loudly plays Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
The house is centred around the sharing of nostalgic music. Formed on three vertically staggered floors, sound saturates throughout, each accessed by a wide central staircase drawing guests towards social areas to dance, listen and perform.
